At Mosquito Emporium, we don’t normally carry china or porcelain figurines and statues. We do, however, enjoy finding items stamped with “Made in Occupied Japan” because its a snapshot of a time and place.
We had the honour of being chosen by 101 BIG FM as its BIG Business of the Week for Feb. 5-9!
They treated us to a delicious catered lunch of sandwiches, cookies and coffee cake from Fox’s Bakery and Deli and plugged our little downtown shop on the radio throughout the week.
We had BIG FM playing all week long. It was very cool to hear them spread the word about us, and to hear host Deb James say she liked out tagline, “Not your grandma’s antiques store!”
Thanks again, BIG FM!
We had the fantastic Barrie-based photographer Laura Bainborough come by Mosquito Emporium recently to take some shots, and we are thrilled with the results!
She really captured some great details of our vintage shop in clean, professional images. We are so happy to have these to share with everyone, and as keepsakes for family.
Here are some of our favourite photos from the shoot:
A big thank you to our friends, family, Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman, and downtown neighbours who came to our Grand Opening! We are so thankful for all your support, and we are thrilled to be part of such a great community!
Another big thanks to our downtown friends Bohemia, Sinfull Delight Boutique, B.J.’s Records and Nostalgia, and HeadQuarters Hair Salon who donated some amazing prizes, and to Carly-Marie’s Sweet Treats for the delicious cake and cupcakes in retro colours!
